Read Proverbs 20
Look at Verse 20
Tomorrow being Fathers Day consider this insightful proverb.
“Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.”
1) Here we see, An Unacceptable Conduct – which is revealed in someone cursing one or both of their parents.
Now this word curseth means to consider insignificant, to treat with contempt, or to dishonor.
Such treatment violates the 5th of the 10 Commandments.
However, from prophetical scripture we know that this evil practice will be prominent in the last days.
Rebellious children will disobey, devalue, defame, dishonor, and dishearten their parents with little or no remorse due to a perverse conscience and a total abandonment of civility.
2) But then next we see An Unalterable Consequence – in that the one who mistreats their parents will not escape their self-inflicted outcome.
Which is having “their lamp put out in obscure darkness.”
Which is the forfeiture of the promise found in Ephesians 6:3.
That verse obviously tells us that it is prudent and profitable to honor your imperfect parents.
Whether they are in your midst or relegated to your memory, do it!
Have A God Conscious Day!
