Read Proverbs 14
My Focus: (Vs 15)
1) The Gullibility of The Simple –
“The simple believeth every word”
Simpleminded: lacking mature insight and comprehension.
That describes one who is gullible enough to believe every thing told to them, without validating what they’ve been told.
They’re naive to the fact that their source (especially if they’re considered to be reputable) may not be completely factual, whether intentional or not.
2) The Guidance of The Sensible –
“but the prudent man looketh well to his goings”
The Prudent: one who is deliberately cautious, and able to look beyond the present disturbance and the emotions it provokes.
They know that some information is misinformation (or fake news).
So they look well (or thoroughly and thoughtfully) at what they’re hearing, or feeling from a biblical perspective. And they react accordingly.
At best, wrong information can deceive us. At worst, it can damn us!
Good advice: “Don’t believe everything you hear, and only half of what you think you see!”
