Read Proverbs 23
Focus Vs 29 – 35

The subject is that of intoxicants. We find here:
1) A Word About Intoxicants –
-“Look not upon the wine when it is red” (31)

The words “look not” means NOT to give one’s attention or interest toward something.

And especially is that encouraged when “the wine is red” or when it is seductively appealing to ones senses of sight and taste.

The admonition is simply to avoid its deception and defilement by abstaining from its use. Then we find:
2) A Warning About Intoxicants-
“At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder” (32)

Which speaks of its consequences being that which poisons and causes great pain to its victim.

Anything (alcohol or drugs) that induces a lessening of one’s senses or a loss of being sensible is foolish and potentially fatal.

However, we live in a day when people from all walks of life (including so-called religious authorities) are downplaying the serious consequences of intoxicants and who are promoting its use.

Don’t be fooled by the worlds advertisements and allurements that are geared to conceal the woe, and the suffering, and the conflicts it produces.

Here’s the warning: Intoxicants can help foster adversity, abuse, agony, arguments, adultery, ailments, and addictions.

Choose rather to refrain and abstain.

Have A God Conscious Day!
